The ‘Apotropaic Magic’ (Evil Eye) Mini Series was born from an urge to paint positive talismans for the new year.

Having been drawn to and fascinated by the ‘evil eye’ and its claimed protective properties for some time, current social and political climate peaking already in 2022, Chloé thought this was the perfect focus for a series of minis.

At just five by five inches (12.7 x 12.7cm), this small piece is the perfect addition to any home. Nestle one amongst your curated art collection or pop it on your beside. Hang it by your door or on your desk as a daily reminder to think positive thoughts and invest in your physical and mental wellbeing. Whilst I'm mainly pushing abstractions around a canvas, there's always room for the occasional portrait or two, too. With my signature textural approach to application and love for balancing the nuances of colour – paintbrush in hand, I let my intuition lead the way!
