Mixed Media on paper, ready to hang.

Paper beach is a place of golden sand and a carpet of native flowering pigface along the Tasmanian Kanamaluka River (Tamar). These succulents are vibrant and lush. As you walk past the calming water the tidal lines can be seen as the water recedes at the shoreline.
This work examines the textures, stories & pneuma of the Tasmanian landscape. I am fascinated by this place and the stories it holds. The more time spent here the landscape reveals itself beyond the aesthetic.

A blue canvas with various tones of ochre, brown and ultramarine blue. Two large gum tree trunks positioned in the middle, one curving off to the side the other extending off the top of the canvas. Distant white stem gum trees in the top right corner and surrounded by abstracted pattern and native grass shapes. Behind the trees bright glowing pinks, orange and maroon tones meld together
