Artist Bio

Cairns based artist Mark Cochrane’s collection "DogHouseFNQ" is a hilarious look at iconic Australian homes, coupled with our love affair of dogs. Mark’s work combines many of the elements that we find distinctly Australian with a good mix of humour, sarcasm and irony.

Mark wanted to highlight the eclectic array of home styles, that often go unnoticed in the region, that represent different periods, conditions, materials and graces of far north Queensland. “DogHouseFNQ" celebrates the idiosyncratic homes and dogs of this vibrant area.

Mark's work has been exhibited in Broome WA, Cairns Tropical Pride TANKS Regional gallery 2014-2020, Print-makers TANKS Cairns 2017, Canopy Gallery 2017-2018, Featured Artist Cairns Casino 2017, Cairns Art Society TANKS 2019, exhibitor 2019 Miami Art Expo, 2020 Swiss Art Expo. Mark's work has reached articles in Q news and several spreads in local newspapers.
