Chris Childs. My Art.
I have created art for my whole life.
As a small child I did pencil drawings for hours and hours.
I still sketch but prefer to combine it with painting and other techniques. I use acrylic and watercolour paints, coloured pencils and fine art pens. Recently I’ve enjoyed creating mixed media, handmade stamps, textile, digital art and book illustrations.
I have an Undergraduate Certificate in Creative Arts & Health, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology & Art History and have studied various art techniques over the years.
My earlier works were focused on the human form. In 1982 I was part of a hugely successful life drawing exhibition of Brisbane Art School students, at Gregory Terrace Art Gallery in Spring Hill.
These days I’m interested in creative watercolour landscapes and urban sketching incorporating internal and external architecture.
