Yonder

This landscape is inspired by a passing view with strong light from the distance. I was desperate to capture this on canvas as a painting. The style is more Impressionistic although the subject matter tends to lean more towards Romanticism with the strong light and the dark foreground as a metaphor for guiding light.

Christina creates art, flirting across different mediums and genres in her home based studio. Lately Christina's paintings are based on local landscapes of the surrounding Northern Beaches area.
Christina Budden completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2008 at the National Art School, Sydney. Since then she was awarded finalist for various prizes. Including the Paddington Art Prize, (Highly Commended) , Warringah Art Prize, Little Things Art Prize, Lethbridge Small Scale Art Prize, Keeping Company - Manly Art Gallery and Museum, Petite Art Prize, Northern Beaches Art Prize.
