The Bathing Pool (Hubert Robert)- Master copy

A master copy of French painter Hubert Robert’s “The Bathing Pool”, 1777-79.
I wanted to capture Robert’s skilled use of oil paints to create a lively environment; an old structure surrounded by overgrown trees, a crystal clear pool and pristine marble statues.
Every inch of Robert’s original artwork was repainted as faithfully as possible, with close attention to details and composition over the span of a month.
The original artwork is now housed at the Metropolitan Museum.
