ARTIST STATEMENT:

I am an abstract realist painter from the Surf Coast of Victoria. My work is representational in my expression of still life and portraiture.
In my practice I use nostalgic archetypes from a bygone era to make social comment about the everyday lives and experiences of people in the community. Specifically, in the domestic environment.
By using predominant oils and acrylics I aim to evokes feelings of nostalgia. Combining collage and a limited pallet with these traditional media, I work to arouse sentimental connections with the viewer.
The combination of abstraction and realism within my work highlights the ephemeral yet eternal search for human connection
