Artwork Description

This is a combination of my two styles of painting - figurative and abstract. It is a fun way to work with no expectation. The work evolves rather than follows a defined idea.
The pattern on the dress was what dictated the subject and the title. It reminded me of warm summer days and floaty dresses. The "fabric" is the wrapping from a roll of toilet paper and became the base layer for this piece.
There are many layers of paint and papers. Covered by lines in ink, pencil and crayon and a stencil or two.
This work is on board and finished with cold was.
