Artist Bio

Hi and welcome to my art.
Art for me is wonderful land of colour, emotion and happiness. I have been making art for several years and the more I do the more I fall in love with the process.
I have tried several mediums, the first being pencil which is something I still enjoy, sitting with my art pad on my lap and drawing whatever inspires me. It's a terrific way to wind down and create something simple or develop it into whatever I want. I spend most evenings with pencil, paper and of course the trusty eraser.
I also use watercolour and have experimented with charcoal. A few years ago while visiting an art gallery in the South West Of WA, I saw some work done by an artist, using ink on yupo paper. She showed me how it could be used and I was hooked. It's a vibrant, beautiful medium and it moves in its own way, so you don't have a lot of control over it. This is so exciting as you never know exactly what you'll end up with and the results can be fantastic.
I find inspiration in everything around me including faces, scenery, buildings and I can express these in way that inspires and brings joy. I believe art is like jumping on a bus and arriving somewhere you haven't seen before and feel wonderfully surprised by it.
My home is my studio in Perth, so I able to work on my art without moving to another venue.
My process is that I will be inspired by something I see or how I feel and those two factors determine the work.
My hopes for the future is to constantly improve, explore and share my art in a way that others find inspirational, or even just to brighten their day.
