Beach Dancing

Spontaneous impressionist style . This small painting was done en plein air, on site, holding on to the easel while the wind did its best to throw me over the edge. I used mostly palette knife to achieve the strong colours and marks. This will shine in a frame & fit nicely on a narrow wall or empty conrner.

I am a visual artist living in Perth, Western Australia. I paint mostly in oils on canvas, gouache on paper and acrylic and have been exhibiting for about 20 years. I have attended numerous short courses and workshops as well as Charles Sturt University summer school for 3 years.
I have been in many club exhibitions, 4 combined exhibitions with one other artist, 3 solo exhibitions and currently paint with a plein air group (painting on site) in Perth and surrounds.
My paintings are influenced by the colours of the semi- tropics of Brisbane where I grew up and my subjects vary from my love of observing people, the bush, and cityscapes, especially at night.
