Artwork Description

I picked these leaves from my friend Libbys' garden as I loved the shape, colour and appeal of the leaves. I wanted to create a patterned, bright and cheery painting to sparkle in a dark spot in someones home.

Artist Bio

Painting is my great love and after an absence of nearly 30 years I tinkered around with Lino Printing, Lino Reduction Printing and Monoprinting.
Charlotte Thorday finally made me see the light , literally, in her class of still life painting ,Jan 2017 .
I then launched into Acrylic painting with a mass of material from my travels to New York City.
My art is a representation of my history of memories. Things that have embedded themselves in my mind through my sense of touch, sight and smell.
It is also a curiosity of people and how I interpret their life. I have a fascination with 'people watching'- What are they doing? Where are they going? What are they going to do ?
In all my art colour and design are what interests me. I love the bounce of colour and creating an interesting design with shapes, forms and especially shadows.
