Painted en plein air on one of the fire trails close to my home. Since the last bushfire, the grass trees have burst into wonderful growth. I paint on a coloured ground - Prussian blue in this work and use spontaneous brush work - I need to work quickly as the paint dries fast. I use line and negative space to create forms and use colour to create the mood of the day.
