Artwork Description

Photograph on paper

Available in multiple size (max edition of 20)
Formative Memory was captured in-situ along a rocky coastline that greets the Southern ocean. For thousands of years these voracious tides have carved their stories into stone. Photographed on large format film with an old wooden camera, it was a chance encounter during a precise change of tide that made this work possible. Ngarinjin Elder David Mowaljarlai often spoke of Country as a body, and as Celtic tradition affirms, it's often at dawn and dusk that doorways between worlds reveal themselves.
