I have been interested in painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. After attending art college in Yorkshire, England I obtained a National Diploma in Design in painting and printmaking which lead me into teaching for a brief period before deciding that this wasn't the career for me.
Business and family put painting on the back burner for a long time and it wasn't until my wife and I retired to Australia, to be with our family, that I took up painting again.
For my 65th birthday my daughter gave me an easel and some paints and so that was the encouragement I needed and I have been painting ever since.
My interest and inspiration is the multitude of patterns, textures, colours and shapes produced by nature. I seem to chase natures inventiveness. Being a Piscean I am also drawn to water which features in a lot of my work.
Since coming to Australia I have realised that the aboriginal technique of painting has had an influence in my later works.
My medium is mostly acrylic on canvas.
Thank you for looking at my paintings which I hope you enjoyed.
