In 2023 the ACT government forcibly acquired the Calvary Hospital in Canberra. That would have been illegal had not they just passed legislation to allow them to do it - legislation rushed through without normal processes of debater review. Yes there was much protest, petitioning and it went before the Supreme Court. But when it is legalised already, nothing could be done. Albanese said " I see no problem for the future." This is what we call democracy?
