Hearts

I am very drawn to abstract expressionist portraiture and I think this piece reflects that. I have used an intuitive painting method which allows the background layers to determine the style and design of my portrait, allowing the nuances in pattern and colour to direct my piece. My favourite artist is Jean-Michel Basquiat- so colour and energy is definitely present. I have embellished this painting with shimmering acrylic ink details to add a luxurious finishing touch. The piece is fully sealed and glossed with varnish by Krylon.
