Artwork Description

The original,of this work was a commission for someone who loved eucalypts. After taking many photos of nearby eucalypts I was aware of the bees on the flowers. So I decided to put a couple in my artwork (hope you can spot the second one). The new owners of the work were thrilled with the result.

Artist Statement:
“Nature never ceases to amaze me with its variety, colours, patterns and intricate detail. I’m at one with nature and in particular flora of all kind. Botanic art is a precise art form and not everyone’s “cup of tea” but it is who I am. Just as plants flourish and grow given the right conditions, I too have flourished as a botanic artist – learning through classes, practice, observation, making a connection with a specific plant and eventually seeing a detailed artwork emerge from the page. Through this art form my knowledge of plant species has grown immensely; natural history subjects beckon continuously; I have made many new friends; I’ve experienced the delight in selling works and being chosen as a finalist in numerous exhibitions and passing on my knowledge as a tutor.”
