Clarissa Luk is a self-taught artist born in Perth, Western Australia and now practicing in Sydney. She also studies a double degree in Space Engineering and Law. The nature of her professional work means that she has to travel often, so she provides the location that each of her original artworks was inspired and painted, to reflect that purchasing an original artwork is to purchase some moments from her life.

Although she has enjoyed craft since a young age, Clarissa began illustrating in 2017, taking an interest in the challenge of mastering a new skill. In the years since, she has enjoyed experimenting with new techniques, performing commissions, and recently began showcasing her work publicly. Clarissa’s work is featured on the gallery wall at the 21st Amendment Bar in Leederville, Western Australia.

Clarissa’s current work merges the contemporary style of minimalism with her ethnically Chinese roots. Many of her recent pieces are continuous line drawings in traditional black brush ink, mixing calligraphy techniques with modern illustration. Clarissa artworks connect her personal experience of reconciling two worlds, being both Chinese and Australian.
