REEF

It's summer and all the bright colors that comes with it. Inspired by the beautiful colors of the Barrier Reef I felt like doing a piece that showed the flow and beauty of it all. It captures my joy of summer and it's warmth. I use a combination of acrylics and shimmery pigment powders which I mix in my own pouring medium. Colors are layered on top of each other the create a peacock effect of color coming through color. I spin the piece on a lazy susan device to maintain the integrity and roundness of cells. And finally when dry it has several layers of clear epoxy resin to give it depth, mirror like finish and also enables the shimmer colors to refract in different lighting. This to me is a very joyful and flowing piece.

Color and creation are my passions, that others can enjoy it is my love. When I paint I'm in the now & go with the flow of creation where ever it takes me which is why I love abstract art. I do Fluid Pours which I seal with epoxy resin. I also do pure resin art. I love to experiment and mix things up, it's all about creation and sometimes I like to combine the fluid pour with resin geodes. I love the diversity doing art gives me, an artist with never a dull moment. Each piece has a little bit of my soul in it. People see so many different images in my art and it greatly pleases me that each person has a personal interpretation of what I create. I love to use pigment powders as well as acrylics to give my art depth and shimmer. It is the art that keeps on giving as it changes during the day dependent on how the light of day hits it. My art has been used in home decor to kitchen splash backs to wall art pieces. I film most of my work, especially commissions which tells the story behind the creation of each piece.
