Artwork Description

It brings me great joy when I hear our Kookaburras laugh in our garden trees or when I am walking the dog at Ansteys Hill our local national park. These guys bring so much joy to all. Like the Koala so Australiana. They have great character features too. I had much fun painting this Kookaburra. Ive used a light texture for the sky with splatters of blues, pinks, yellows, deep blues, greens, gold, whites and beige. The kookaburra is super textured (doesnt show up as well in photos) with a mix of browns, blues, creams, whites and black. Ive used metallic gold for the tree trunk to make it more abstract. The leaves are textured to in two greens.

Artist Bio

Award-winning artist Miranda Lloyd expresses a deep connection to her natural surroundings. Living in the foothills, her enthusiasm for painting is inspired by her own backyard and a desire to bring the “outside, inside,” while complementing her modern lifestyle. A passionate surfer, Miranda often reflects the ocean in her work.
