Trail Blazer: Abstract Graffiti Painting on Canvas
by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost)
This original painting was created as a Statement Piece for any room, with its bold colour combination and street graffiti vibe, it will bring maximum impact to any room in need of a big punch of colour.
The work is a continuation of my current experimentation with using different techniques and tools to apply the paint. The work was created using Sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, rollers, Spray Packs, in fact almost anything except brushes.
The work is directly influenced by the splashes and marks made in City Laneways, on Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces, loose layers of paint built up with juxtaposing colours.
The work is also a reflection of my love for gestural abstraction and combining that with my obsession with spray paint and graffiti.
This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Laneways of Melbourne and Sydney, Insitu examples are not to scale.
The work comes on a stretched canvas and is ready to hang.
