Oil on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
For most of July when visiting the beaches around Lennox Head, I have been watching the humpback whales migrating north. They are due to return in September with their calves which will be exciting. There has been a dramatic increase in numbers this year and concerns have been raised about the availability of adequate aquatic food supplies for them..
On one of the viewing days I was fortunate enough to actually see a humpback leap clear of the ocean and you can imagine the excitement that caused for me and other viewers β¦ β¦ I just had to capture this as a work of art. People have been viewing the whales from various vantage points along the coastline. This painting is located just north of Sharpes Beach along the cliff walk. The primed canvas is a fine weave making it easier to apply paint and work on your subject rather than strive to lay down paint on a thicker rougher weave. The painting has no frame. Whether framed or unframed this ocean themed painting would lift any living room and create interest and conversation.
