Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

This artwork has been mulling around in my head for a while and probably is a result of uncertainty. These are strange times. People’s lives and good fortune are, more than usual, subject to an ambiguity and improbable vagueness. I was interested in how many times a six was shown on the tumbled dice and if this signalled a degree of optimism and a chance at hopefulness.

Absurd art that looks at the strange incidents that one encounters from time to time This artwork brings everyday, non – artwork objects together where they acquire strong, symbolic meanings within the context of the whole work. I like the way the pieces contribute to the composition yet still retain their original identity. I feel that in some ways this sculptural technique of organizing into a unified whole a group of unrelated and often fragmentary or discarded objects is a powerful metaphor of how people from various cultures and walks of life can be bought together and live harmoniously as a whole.
