Artwork Description

Amidst the soft cascade of sweet yellow eucalypt flowers and the silvery-green sway of narrow leaves, a small New Holland Honeyeater perches lightly on a slender branch. It's colours beautifully mimic the surrounding leaves and flowers. This image is one of Spring which every year brings hope and new life to our world.
This large drawing was created with intention of bringing this image to life, using only the highest professional grade coloured pencil on Grafix drafting film. Both the medium and the surface are designed to last a lifetime and the bold, vibrant colours will stay just as vivid in 50+ years as they are today if framed behind UV glass or perspex out of direct sunlight.
Please note that the styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only, and is not to scale. * Please note that frame is not included. This is just to give you an impression of how this artwork may look on your wall.
A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included with the artwork.

Artist Bio

For me, drawing is nurturing, empowering and a therapeutic escape from the daunting realities of life. From picking up the pencil as a young girl, to escaping into my art in the present, it has become wholeheartedly ingrained in me and part of who I am. I introduce myself as a Representational Artist. While the end result of my creating may seem like realism, it is in fact just a representation of what I have perceived as real.

I have gathered my skills from constant practice, engaging with other artists and experimenting with various techniques. Throughout the years I've discovered my love for the detail I can create using pencils, whether it's coloured, pastel, graphite or charcoal. Pencils allow me to take control of what emerges from my blank surface. Creating an animal or landscape that comes to life is mesmerising, I crave to see what textures, shadows, forms, lines and tones will merge together to create a life-like piece of art. I love hearing from my clients that my art has transported them into the eyes of the subject or they have found peace and happiness just by seeing the work on their wall.
