Artwork Description

This artwork was a special commission for a friend who wished to give her wife a tribute to one of their special rescue dogs. I know this dog personally and know that Kenny is blind in his left eye, so while some seeing this portrait would think I drew his eye completely wrong, it is in fact, entirely accurate. My client was overjoyed with the result and his portrait now resides proudly in there living room. I was very honoured that she entrusted me to do this for her.
Commissioning a unique piece such as this or a portrait of your pet can be such as special tribute, whether for yourself or as a unique gift for a loved one as this piece was.
Kenny was completed using the highest quality coloured pencils on drafting film. I can also use a variety of other mediums and surfaces to personalise my clients wishes.

If commissioning me for a pet portrait, I do required as many good quality and clear images/photos of the animal (more than one animal, please contact), and dependant upon the size, I can take 2-3 weeks to complete. I'd love to help you with such a commissioned work. Please contact me via clicking on the 'Commision an Artwork' button.

Artist Bio

For me, drawing is nurturing, empowering and a therapeutic escape from the daunting realities of life. From picking up the pencil as a young girl, to escaping into my art in the present, it has become wholeheartedly ingrained in me and part of who I am. I introduce myself as a Representational Artist. While the end result of my creating may seem like realism, it is in fact just a representation of what I have perceived as real.

I have gathered my skills from constant practice, engaging with other artists and experimenting with various techniques. Throughout the years I've discovered my love for the detail I can create using pencils, whether it's coloured, pastel, graphite or charcoal. Pencils allow me to take control of what emerges from my blank surface. Creating an animal or landscape that comes to life is mesmerising, I crave to see what textures, shadows, forms, lines and tones will merge together to create a life-like piece of art. I love hearing from my clients that my art has transported them into the eyes of the subject or they have found peace and happiness just by seeing the work on their wall.
