Artwork Description

Sitting in an old bathtub and alone with her thoughts and the vast, sepia drenched outback sunset stretching out before her, this woman has the best seat in the house. Nursing a precious bottle of whiskey, she savours the quiet moments amongst the chaos of life. The world may be wild and unpredictable, but for now, she is at peace, embracing the raw beauty of the land and the solace of her solitude.

My inspiration for this artwork was my daughter who loves this life and is the model too. I chose to draw this using tones of sepia to attempt to replicate the gorgeous rich tones of our outback sunsets.

Please note that the styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only, and is not to scale. *Please note that frame is not included. This is just to give you an impression of how this artwork may look on your wall.
A signed Certificate of Authenticity is included with the artwork.

Artist Bio

For me, drawing is nurturing, empowering and a therapeutic escape from the daunting realities of life. From picking up the pencil as a young girl, to escaping into my art in the present, it has become wholeheartedly ingrained in me and part of who I am. I introduce myself as a Representational Artist. While the end result of my creating may seem like realism, it is in fact just a representation of what I have perceived as real.

I have gathered my skills from constant practice, engaging with other artists and experimenting with various techniques. Throughout the years I've discovered my love for the detail I can create using pencils, whether it's coloured, pastel, graphite or charcoal. Pencils allow me to take control of what emerges from my blank surface. Creating an animal or landscape that comes to life is mesmerising, I crave to see what textures, shadows, forms, lines and tones will merge together to create a life-like piece of art. I love hearing from my clients that my art has transported them into the eyes of the subject or they have found peace and happiness just by seeing the work on their wall.
