During my recent trip to Italy, I spent 5 weeks at the Academia Vivarium Novum - collaborating with philosophers & philosophy students to create a compositional painting of one of Plato's concepts. This painting depicts a young Plato in the Academia, talking about the 4 kinds of madness, one of which is 'poetic madness'. The poet/lyre player is shown in a state of musical passion with one of Apollo's deamons whispering in his ear.
