True Connection

This is an intuitive painting(they all are really). I had started this painting during an owl workshop I was leading, and when I was showing a student how to keep things loose, I made a squiggle, later this squiggle was what became the snake. I didn't want to paint a snake because a lot of people get turned off by them and they are quite intense, but it was a strong calling, so I went with it. I love the connection that they have, like a team, I feel this is a powerful message of connection. connection with our true nature and even the dual natures of ourselves...embracing and loving all that we are. Divine Union. And then the symbology of snake for transitions, and shedding ways that no longer serve, and the owl for its wisdom and seeing in darkness. There a bit going on...

Hello I'm an artist, mother of 2, wife, surfer, yogini, lover of colour. I am originally from Southern California, and now living on the northern NSW coastal range of Australia.

I received my BA in fine arts from Chico State University. After graduating I decided to get a "real" job and found work in sales. I dabbled here and there with painting but, my art really took a back seat. After the birth of my second child, I was craving creative expression. I took a course online which reignited my passion, and introduced me to Intuitive Painting. I was hooked!

Painting for me is a form of meditation, and communication. I listen intuitively to what wants to be expressed through me. When I am in the "zone" the feeling is pure bliss. My paintings are a process of moment to moment decisions, based on feelings , there isn't any pre planning or sketching. I use lots of layers, and slowly the layers reveal the direction to move in. Some paintings are figurative, some abstract. some crazy, some peaceful.

I also work one on one with clients for personal commissioned works.
