Hobby Artist 47 years ago I began painting ,self taught and growing up in the Qld bush I enrolled in many short Painting and pottery courses In the 70s many famous Australian painters potters and poets travelled though the bush towns I always signed up for a day or week class I met Mr Drysdale in the late 70s and did a 3 day art class at the back of monto vet surgery the owners wife was an artist and potter it was brilliant to listen to Mr Drysdales storys . At the time I didn't realise how important in the art world he was, I had a great chinwag with Lenard Teale and discussed his poetry over lunch in the local monto Cafe Artists that inspire me like Boyd the raw natural talent he had painting how he saw the Australian landscape . Fred Williams another beautiful artist these artists inspire me , the rawness and beauty in the stories behind our indigenous artists I have indigenous heritage but choose not to paint aboriginal artwork. I just feel it would be disrespectful as I have no knowledge of my background . Published Full pages Australian Art Collector. Art Gallery Guide. FrontCover Beautiful Homes . Salt Magazine.
