Coris Evans is a visual artist working in Bundalung Country / Byron Bay, Australia.
She earned her BFA(Hons) at the University of UWS in 2008 and was compelled to complete a Masters in Art Administration after working as a Research Assistant to renowned international curator and Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries in London.
Evansโ paintings, simultaneously playful and sentimental, concentrate on two principal themes: childhood memories and our material obsessed culture. She combines elements of the familiar - the KFC Looney Tunes mug you loved as a child, the Nokia phone you had a teenager and the specific hair products your Grandfather would wear - to trigger memories of specific times, people and relationships.
