professional freelance & fine art photographer of over 30 yearsBorn in Holland, Corrie Studied a Diploma of Fine Arts at the South.Australian School of Art in Adelaide , as well as several external subjects in the areas of fashion design & craft. In her formative years she worked as a phsychiatric nurse, a draughtsman's assistant & at completion of her fashion design course, a Lingerie designer. Corrie began as an artist & exhibitor, in the medium of painting & took up photography as a hobby. She soon fell in love with photography, which allowed a spontaneity she was craving and began experimenting with overlaying her b/w negative images & later colour transparencies. Totally engrossed in the technique & obsessed by the b/w & colour collisions and its tendency to create new dimensions with a painterly effect, she fulfilled her creativity, inspiration & imagination that had been so cultivated, yet frustrating as a painter. In later years she was able to finesse this technique more, with the new medium of Digital technology & programs associated with same. Apart from her artistic endeavours, Corrie also began freelancing as a stills photographer in theatre, film, music &art events & art related corporate industries . Over the years , Corrie has taught Art related subjects, including photography. She ran a darkroom & studio from home where she processed all her images for her clients & her exhibitions. She moved to Sydney in 1986. Here, she has continued to freelance as a professional photographer in the areas of the arts, community, documentary, film, music, and some corporate areas & has had several exhibitions, group & solo. She also worked p/t as support worker in the mental health welfare system.Corrie has been exhibiting her art regularly now, since 1975 Nationally & Internationally & held in many collections. She has been published in several International Photographic Books & Magazines.
