I was inspired to paint this studio painting after a group En Plein Air painting trip to Lake Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand in 2019, after an exhilarating helicopter flight over the Mt Aspiring National Park and landing on 2 snow peaks. It was such an adrenaline rush to stand so high up on a snow peak.
"Frozen" has quite an abstract feel to the artwork. The image is actually referenced from a section of my video footage, a close up view of flying past a particularly beautiful piece of glacial ice.
Although inspired from ice and snow, this abstract style artwork also reminds the viewer of aerial views over the sea and ocean.
Painted with artists quality acrylic paints on 10oz stretched canvas, the painted image continues over the sides and is ready to hang, framed in a beautiful white rustic style float frame.
"Frozen" will look amazing as statement art piece in any setting including modern and coastal home decor, in the workplace and any interior spaces.
Total size including frame is 94.5 x 125 x 5cm
