Many of my paintings are representations of the hour or so during dawn and dusk where shadows, light and colour change rapidly, producing endless patterns, forms and colours amongst the breaking waves, clouds and sand dunes. I am continually drawn back to these coastlines, usually only an hour or two from Brisbane and the Gold Coast where the landscape is constantly being reshaped by tides, storms and wind. Much of my work is focussed on small details and intricacies and evolve as a study of how these sometimes overlooked and even ordinary elements combine and can form a part of the much larger scene.
