Artwork Description

An original pastel chalk and pencil artwork. This artwork was inspired by the reeds surrounding a local lake where the family and I like to take walks. The flourish of bright yellow flowers, and cluster of lush green reeds, makes an attractive subject for the pastel chalk of the original work. I love the colours and textures of flowers, which are a favourite subject of mine for drawing.

This artwork is delivered unframed. The finished image size (if framed to suggested crop marks) is approximately 39cm x 24cm. The full size of the paper is 42cm x 30cm. Pastel chalk artworks are delicate and fragile, and it is recommended that the artwork is framed behind non-reflective art glass to ensure its longevity.

This artwork is also available in limited edition prints of various sizes - view available prints via my artist profile.

Artist Bio

Hi there - my name is Craig. I'm a Sydney-based artist who has been inspired by, and involved in, all things creative from a young age. Whilst I may masquerade as a mild-mannered IT analyst during the day (hey, it's still kinda creative!), whenever time permits I will often be found engaged in a new artwork, playing one of several musical instruments that I play, or singing. I also enjoy travelling to new places with my wife and will often take inspiration from scenes and experiences that we have had whilst travelling - but I may also find inspiration in the local nature, buildings and landscapes that can be found in my own "back yard". I enjoy recreating the colours and textures of nature (I'm particularly fond of old stone buildings and structures), and aim to produce artworks that will brighten people's every day. If you like my works, feel free to drop me a message and let me know what you enjoy most about them.
