Artwork Description

Inspired by seeing boys using a rope to swing out over the Ulupna Creek and launch oneself into a waterhole. Painted from a sketch made while fishing Ulupna Creek.

Artist Bio

My paintings are not always concerned with literal depictions of nature, but rather they are the visual distillation of my personal experiences, feelings and imaginings. Whilst painting, I attempt to organise all of the formal elements of painting necessary to my own expression into a unique, interesting and spiritual whole.
Born in Melbourne in 1950, I first studied painting privately with Melbourne artist Bill Coleman for four years prior to formal art study in the seventies.
