Artwork Description

Artist Bio

As a collective conscious of one, Creative Monk Inc. has been producing art his entire life. It has been his drive and passion since a very young age. Working mostly at night time, when his insomnia takes over, CMI is proficient in a large array of mediums. From charcoal, acrylics, inks, and watercolours, to etching, block printing and even analogue photography, his work can often be recognised by a mix of fascinating mediums and techniques.
Based in Melbourne, Victoria, CMI has had 8 years of tertiary education in The Arts, and continues to learn today through his growth mindset. A distinctive trait of his, CMI pushes to learn new techniques and skills to further enhance his artwork, often through research and experimentation.
Creative Monk Inc is currently building up a collection of works to exhibit nationally. Focusing predominately on the female form and female portraiture in this collection, CMI has also been known to tackle important subjects such as religion, politics, chauvinism and the definition of masculinity; bringing to light the highly conservative nature of our time.
Inspired greatly by the Renaissance Era of Art, Creative Monk Inc.'s work often has hidden references to classical pieces of art, with the erudition and cynicism that could only be described as Creative Monk Inc.

β€œ Art should ask important questions about the time we live in and Creative Monk Inc.'s art does this with alarming erudition, obliterating the peace and quiet of apathy and forging an honest approach to art in the 21st century.”
