Artwork Description

A close up depicting the vibrant hues of 'Bubbles' the goldfish.
Submerged just below the water's surface and distorted by the cloudy light reflecting from a nearby window, Bubbles' brilliant colour still powers through. The unusual light reflections on the water, and in the bubbles suggest that Bubbles' resides indoors in a room with a view.
Painted with meticulous attention to detail, this contemporary piece appeals to the pareidolia in all of us.

Painted with professional quality acrylics on gallery standard stretched canvas, and framed in your choice of quality hardwood frame (black or natural wood grain). This beautiful painting brings both movement and tranquility to your living space.

Artist Bio

Cristina Van Loon - Artist

Art has always been a passion since I was a young child. Though always a subject of great interest, life happened, and it hasn’t been until recently that I’ve picked up my art journey from where I left off.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts, Fashion Design (R.M.I.T.), and have been teaching kids art since 2011.
Whilst I still love sharing my knowledge in fun art lessons with young creatives, I am now pursuing my own freelance painting career, taking on commissions, and painting what I love.

There are many aspects about art that I find both inspiring and intriguing. If I had to define my art, however, it would be 'realism' - conveying the detail that I see in the world around me. I enjoy the challenge of observing colours, light and values conveying illusions through which we define and understand the physical world. Capturing these illusory effects in my paintings, I find both challenging and fascinating. My hope is to convey what I see, so that the viewer, perhaps, may share in the wonder and beauty of what can be seen in the mundane, the magnificent, and everything in between.

Working in a variety of high quality mediums, using gallery standard surfaces and frames, I hope my paintings communicate a sense of “wow!” and appreciation for our world of infinite inspiration !
