Artist Picks: Jen Shewring

I have one rule for choosing art and that is to only buy art I instantly love! I once fell in love with a small painting of a horse at an exhibition, the gorgeous colours in the shadows captivated me. I went home only to rush back to buy the painting and it still brings me endless joy. Iโ€™m drawn to colourful art especially of flowers and nature because vibrant colours are uplifting and make me feel happy which is reflected in my own work. Most artists have a story to tell and itโ€™s great to learn about their journey. Some are now making artworks using recycled materials. Others create whimsical subjects or express nostalgia or simply capture and enhance the beauty around us. I selected the artworks in this curation as Iโ€™d love to have them all on my wall. There is something that catches my eye in each piece, it may be the colour, the subject, the beautiful texture or that I admire the pure talent of the artist. Art evokes our emotions and touches different parts of our souls and minds. It has a way of making us understand the world and makes it a colourful place!
