Artwork Description

This Painting comes from my "Doodle Series" influenced by lists. All my work is created by building up layers of medium (acrylic paint for paintings or oil pastel for drawings) after which I scratch back into the layers (srafitto) to reveal imagery. Dates references Roman Numerals, which are an ongoing theme in my work.

Artist Bio

Damian Bisogni is an Australian artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally for the past 30 years.
Damian’s work combines aspects of history, personal experiences, stories, songs, movies, popular contemporary culture and everyday life. He blends abstract and semi-representational imagery to create his whimsical, child-like works on solid fields of colours, greys and off whites.
His uses his art to express observations, composition and problem solving, building layers of medium upon another and then scratching (sgraffito) back into the surface to expose lyrical abstract imagery.

Please note that all my Paintings and Drawings are sold archival framed in Tasmanian Oak (with non reflective glass for Drawings). There is a slight delay for framing. Examples of frames can be found in my image listings. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information regarding this.
