Artist Bio

Damian is a Melbourne-born Australian artist, currently residing in country New South Wales, where he derives much of his artistic inspiration from the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Damian predominantly works en plein air and has a close affinity with the Heidelberg school of Australian artists. He also, however, brings a unique approach to his landscapes by drawing on inspiration from the French Impressionist masters, creating a fusion of the two styles. Still life works are another prominent feature of Damian’s portfolio, which represent a wide range of artistic style.

Damian works exclusively in oil paints of the highest quality, typically working on linen canvas, beech, or aluminium bases.

Damian holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Melbourne and was previously a professional flautist, with a long and highly regarded career as Principal Flute in the Australian Army Band Corps before moving into a career in fine arts.

Working as an artist full time from his home studio, Damian also looks after his family of four young children, with whom she shares his passion for art.
