Artwork Description

Ortu Phoenix was the second creation in what I like to call the “Prism Dimensions Series”. Following on from the first painting, Prism Feathers, you can see the transformation into a lighter space within the background. This sense of rising up from out of the drowning deep blues into the brighter and more dream like clouds. Giving that feeling of escapism into the cosmos, and the rising of the phoenix.

Artist Bio

I’ve been very fortunate with my life. I’ve travelled and worked in some great jobs and unique locations all over the world. Naturally, with great highs come great lows and I’ve suffered from a lack of “happiness” for some time. And it’s as simple as, art helps me.

All of these experiences, the beautiful highs and the depressing lows have created who I am today, and led me to this point in my life. This is what my art is about. It’s about trying to self portray some of my soul, emotions and experiences in a visual representation that helps connect others.

Whilst art is subjective, this is what makes us human. In a world of ever increasing machine use and perfection, we need to be reminded that we are only human. We make mistakes. We aren’t programmed to be perfect. And that it’s okay to express our true emotions.

Art helps us do that. Experiences from my travels have taught me that the world is bursting with colour and possibilities. My art is about my desire to see joy and connection in the world. I hope that it can inspire others to find the beauty and possibility in their own lives, and to follow their own dreams with colour and verve.
