Artwork Description

Sun-baked and fearless, this frill-necked lizard stands like a small desert icon, caught mid-pose as its frill flares against the vast heat of the outback. The palette pulls straight from the land itself—rusty reds, ochre yellows, dusty browns and sun-bleached creams—layered with texture that feels dry, cracked, and alive.

There’s a quiet toughness in the way it holds its ground, echoing the resilience of the country it comes from. Equal parts attitude and adaptation, the painting celebrates an unmistakably Australian creature through the raw, earthy colours of the landscape that shaped it.

Artist Bio

Meet Daniel Kotynia: the emerging Tasmanian artist who swapped camouflage gear for spray cans, proving that life's real battles are best fought with bursts of colour. After serving as a soldier and saving lives as a paramedic, Daniel decided it was high time to rescue Australian art from the doldrums.

His canvas escapades are a delightful mashup of street art swagger and wildlife whimsy. Imagine cockatoos caught mid-gossip, kangaroos with attitude, and Tasmanian tigers that look like they've just crashed a party - all rendered in vibrant hues that make you wonder if your walls have been too beige for too long.

If your living space needs a splash of humour, a dash of Aussie charm, and a whole lot of colour, Daniel's creations are your go-to.
