Artwork Description

This artwork was painted by Daniel McCulloch in January 2022.

This painting, Fried Egg (2022) is a signature piece and represents the strongest elements in my style and genre of painting. From concept to finished artwork, this piece took several months to complete. The painting screams mid-century modern, is bold to the eye, and strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and complexity whilst staying true to a minimal aesthetic. This work is of impressive scale measuring 132cm x 170.2cm (or 52'' x 67'' inches), making it a statement piece.

As with most of my works, I try to tie-in the overall composition, colour palette, and painting name in a twist that resonates with the viewer. As evident by the abstracted ''Fried Egg'' occupying center stage slap bang in the middle, this has been achieved.

This painting has been completed on premium CARAVAGGIO 508 JUTE (500GSM). The painting has been stretched on professional grade heavy duty stretcher bars supplied by Fitzroy Stretches in Melbourne.

All edges of this artwork are fully painted.

This artwork is currently available from Bluethumb's Melbourne gallery in Bridge Rd, Richmond.

Artist Bio

I'm a contemporary painter specialising in medium to large format abstract artwork. I use a variety of mediums to create abstract compositions that reflect the beauty and complexity of life. My paintings are characterized by hard lines, bold blocks of saturated colour, and intricate geometric compositions. Paintings often feature overlapping geometric shapes, circles, and lines that create an interplay of light and shadow. I strive to express the tension between the seemingly mundane and the extraordinary, creating works of art that challenge viewers to look beyond the surface and find hidden meaning and insight. My goal is to create artwork that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
