Artwork Description

This Artwork was painted by Daniel McCulloch in 2022.

This painting is the most recent installment in my body of work. High attention to detail has been paid in regards to the overall finish of the piece. Lines within artwork are perfectly clean. Titled ''Us Against The World'', the painting is representative of the challenge every artist faces at all times throughout their careers; The challenge to gain recognition, the challenge to make an impact, the challenge to garner clicks and views, and the challenge to demand a lingering observation from the viewer.

This is a large scale work measuring 101.4cm (H) x 178cm (W) or (40'' x 70'' inches).

The painting has been completed on premium CARAVAGGIO 508 Jute (500GSM - Double Primed Coarse Jute), and stretched on professional Heavy Duty stretcher bars by Fitzroy Stretches in Melbourne.

I have included a photograph of myself with the finished artwork for colour accuracy and scale references.

Artist Bio

I'm a contemporary painter specialising in medium to large format abstract artwork. I use a variety of mediums to create abstract compositions that reflect the beauty and complexity of life. My paintings are characterized by hard lines, bold blocks of saturated colour, and intricate geometric compositions. Paintings often feature overlapping geometric shapes, circles, and lines that create an interplay of light and shadow. I strive to express the tension between the seemingly mundane and the extraordinary, creating works of art that challenge viewers to look beyond the surface and find hidden meaning and insight. My goal is to create artwork that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant.
