Artwork Description

This painting is called “Daydreaming”.

Sometimes in life we forget to enjoy the little things and don’t always stop and take note of our surroundings and the stunning beauty to be found at every turn.

My small obsession with landscapes has evolved into an obsession with the sky.
Everywhere I go I take the opportunity to stop for a moment and stare up at the sky. I’ve always enjoyed finding shapes in the clouds and watching them move and swirl as it reminds me how stunning our surroundings are and also how vast the universe is.

I really enjoy working with more fluid acrylics and watching the paint move around the canvas with some random movement and some very intentional marks..

Artist Bio

I am a Brisbane based still life painter with British roots whose work explores the emotional resonance of everyday objects. My paintings centre on familiar domestic elements—fruit, flowers, mugs and collected vessels—arranged in intimate table settings that reflect themes of memory, ritual and connection to home. Drawing on my British background alongside my life in Australia, I’m interested in the quiet traditions that shape daily life, such as morning tea, shared meals and moments gathered around the table.
My colour palette is vibrant and expressive, often drawing on the bold visual language of 1990s pop culture and graphic design. Within these compositions I frequently include gin bottles and other familiar objects as subtle references to the rhythms of modern motherhood—the small moments of pause, humour and resilience that exist within busy family life. These elements introduce a playful narrative while reflecting the balance between domestic routine and personal identity.
I paint the quiet moments we almost miss — the objects that outlive us and the rituals that hold us together.
