Artwork Description

Mystery and Elegance

Owls provide us with a connection to the natural world. We can't always be in nature as much as we would like, but having an affection for creatures that represent nature can help bridge that gap and often be just as calming and nurturing to self.

In the stillness of a silent night, the owl's presence is almost palpable, the soft rustle of its feathers the only sound breaking the quiet. This piece doesn't just portray a beautiful owl; it's a soulful exploration of movement and stillness, light and shadow. The high-contrast imagery stands out boldly, evoking the quiet beauty of nature's artwork.

It's an invitation to ponder the quiet majesty of the Australian landscape at night, where every creature has a role, and every whisper of the wind tells a story. With just a hint of cartoon from my years drawing for Walt Disney.

Created using old-school ink dipping pens

Artist Bio

All about the special little moments in life, you know, the ones that make you smile. It's a romance with the things you love and the feelings they evoke, brought to life in unique one-of-a-kind artworks.

Danielle B Latta has been a creative since birth and an artist since her first portrait sale 1987. Life experiences including living in the outback, the coast and the inner city has enabled a sensitivity to subjects, bringing them to life in her artwork in sometimes the most simplest of strokes.

Her drawing and painting skills and styles have also been shaped through early work as a portraitist while acquiring her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and work at Walt Disney Animation Australian. Danielle’s portrait work gave her an eye for fine detail, while the Disney work strengthened her drawing stroke.
Danielle’s main focus of present is Whimsical ink works where she captures the special moments from everyday life like a little boy on a swing stealing his first kiss, and connections between animals and humans.

Not only has Danielle had regular exhibition sales around Brisbane but she has been shortlisted in 4 Moreton Bay Art Awards and won several drawing awards in various competitions.

As the artist and founder of Running Duck Studio; a mobile art gallery set up in a repurposed classic caravan, Danielle travels around to small festivals and markets sharing her love of art. However, her work can also be found in galleries and shops around Dayboro, Samford, Redcliffe, Paddington, Manly Harbour, and online at rds.ink
