Artwork Description

The Joy Rush
This ink drawing, The Joy Rush, is a celebration of that perfect, unfiltered moment when happiness is so intense, it spills over.

I used a quick, expressive ink line to capture the sheer, sudden energy of the hug. The drawing style is deliberately loose, with splatters and drips that reflect the messy, beautiful reality of intense feeling—it's not a neat, polished emotion, but a raw, physical explosion of joy.

Look at their faces: eyes closed, mouths wide open in laughter. It’s an act of complete surrender to the moment, a shared, powerful release. This isn't just about two people; it’s about that feeling we all know—the therapeutic relief of a genuine embrace that makes the rest of the world disappear.

Through the stark black-and-white contrast, I wanted to strip away all distractions and focus entirely on the vibrant bond and shared humanity. It’s a simple, universal image that reminds us that some of the greatest gifts in life are the messy, honest moments we share with the people we love.

Danielle’s portrait work gave her an eye for fine detail, while the Disney work strengthened her drawing stroke.
Danielle’s main focus of present is Whimsical ink works where she captures the special moments from everyday life like a little boy on a swing stealing his first kiss, and connections between animals and humans.

Not only has Danielle had regular exhibition sales around Brisbane but she has been shortlisted in 4 Moreton Bay Art Awards and won several drawing awards in various competitions.
