Artwork Description

This work is part of an on-going series of portrait paintings depicting musicians from a number of sources (for example, music videos, album covers, etc). In these paintings, the works are composed so that there is a dynamic balance between empty space and detailed brushwork with vibrant colour thus creating strong visual effects in a two-dimensional form. In this work the artist seeks to appropriate the language and imagery of music by capturing the sense of sound and movement in each colourful brushstroke.
