Artwork Description

After visiting Québec City last autumn, I painted this house initially as a monochrome study, but thought of adding some bright, warm autumn colours would bring some interesting contrast.

Artist Bio

I am a mostly self-thought watercolourist, residing on the Central Coast, NSW. I have been practicing since 2014, and exhibited frequently with the local art society and watercolour society.
While growing up, in Guangzhou, China, I was already interested in visual arts, but placed my pencils and brushes away before heading to university. After moving to the Central Coast, I was inspired to take to painting again and haven't looked back!
I was lucky enough to have attended workshops with Australian watercolourists (Herman Peckel, Chan Dissanayake, etc.) and some Chinese masters (Liu Yi, Huang HuaZhao, Wang Wei). These continue to inspire and motivate me to keep improving.
In the years I have been painting, I have been honored to be awarded multiple people choice awards, various prizes in local exhibitions, and, more recently, some international awards (1st place figurative, IWS Indonesia ; Bronze medal, International Masters of Watercolour Youth Alliance).
In addition to practice my skills, I enjoy teaching watercolour to local students, and via workshops in the Greater Sydney area.
