I consider my self to be as self taught, the only formal studies being in arts and art history as part of my year twelve syllabus. I have always been interested in the arts, drawing, sculpture and painting and I have produced large quantities of works since 2006 . I have used my years spent working in field of telecommunications infrastructure installations to soak up and absorb all the different colours and landscape formations that varies as you move from one part of the country to the next.
My main form of inspiration stems from having extensive travel throughput Australia’s remote and inner most parts and being immersed within the vacant and rugged landscape that seems to have no boundaries. Having lived and worked in some of the most remote parts of the Australian outback for periods of up to three months at a time , installing ten communications facilities five hours south west of Alice Springs and south of Uluru as part of a Communications link from Adelaide to Darwin, creates a visual memory that will remain imprinted forever.
I consider myself to be very fortunate to have had this opportunity to travel and experience the combination of cultural and visual spectrum that makes up our unique and wonderful Country.
My other main interests are Aviation, having trained and completed commercial pilot’s license, sport of any kind and raising money for Downs Syndrome Association . I have donated many works to raise funds and also contributed in planning and staging of fund raising days on a number of occasions.
To date, I have held two private exhibitions and sold approximately fifty paintings. My two favourite artists are Arthur Boyd and William Turner.
